Properties of Cold-Bonded and Sintered Aggregate Using Washing Aggregate Sludge and Their Incorporation in Concrete: A Promising Material

چکیده

The aggregate makes up about 65–75% of the total volume concrete and use artificial aggregates manufactured from waste by-product materials, as an alternative to natural aggregate, has attracted considerable research interest. Washing sludge (WAS) is obtained a during process washing aggregates, which disposed or used landfill. utilization WAS major component manufacture remains unexplored. Therefore, focus been directed towards production cold-bonded sintered using their incorporation in concrete. fresh pellets were WAS, ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) ordinary Portland cement (OPC) kept laboratory conditions at 20 ± 2 °C 95 5% relative humidity obtain whereas GGBFS utilized by heating 1150 °C. properties characterized through physical, mechanical, chemical, microstructural analysis. Concrete specimens also produced introducing replacement with coarse aggregate. results showed that containing can be lower oven-dry density comparable mechanical efficiently utilize WAS.

Assessing relationships among properties of demolished concrete, recycled aggregate and recycled aggregate concrete using regression analysis.

Recycled demolished concrete (DC) as recycled aggregate (RA) and recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) is generally suitable for most construction applications. Low-grade applications, including sub-base and roadwork, have been implemented in many countries; however, higher-grade activities are rarely considered. This paper examines relationships among DC characteristics, properties of their RA and...

Properties of Green Lightweight Aggregate Concrete

With increasing concern over the excessive exploitation of natural aggregates, synthetic lightweight aggregate produced from environmental waste is a viable new source of structural aggregate material. The uses of structural grade lightweight concrete reduce considerably the self-load of a structure and permit larger precast units to be handled. In this paper, the mechanical properties of a str...

application of sewage dry sludge as fine aggregate in concrete

the present work has been performed to eliminate sewage dry sludge of alborze city wastewater treatment plant by using them as fine aggregate in concrete. on this basis, at first the selected dry sludge was analyzed for xrd and xrf for crystalline phases and chemical composition, respectively. the results showed that more than 50% of the sludge is formed of sio2 and it had more than 20% organic...
